Pressure Relief for W212 Coolant Expansion Tank?
Hey Guys,
Any of you hear of or try installing a pressure relief valve into the coolant expansion tank? I realize the cap is supposed to do this. But it is messy when it does. I’m thinking of installing an adjustable pressure relief with a hose connected to the vent side of valve that runs down under the engine bay. Set the pressure point just below the fixed cap pressure point and in theory no more messes.
Only guys with strong tunes need to worry about this. The windup of the motor is much faster and the temps peak higher with the strong tunes causing this issue. My cap never vents with stock tune. I know of a few other guys with this issue as well.
Any other ideas to solve this? All reasonable ideas are welcome.
Thanks.
