Noise at 2400 RPM M157
Is there some magic that happens at 2400? Getting a weird noise in the 2350 - 2450 range in all gears any speed. Engine goes from a normal rrrrrrr to a wahhhhh then after 2500 quiets back down. Just in that very narrow band, strange.
40K miles so could be just the old girl getting arthritis, or maybe an indicator of something failing. Not sure if VVT kicks in at that RPM.

when you pop the hood and listen .. rev to 2350 where does the sound come from
Any loss of power in range? (If not disregard below)
Could be turbos not kicking in ... no boost

Thanks P - no loss in power, just noise. I should probably hook it up the HPT and log a few runs just to see if everything copasetic. Maintenance is all up to speed. Been losing some coolant lately and the camshaft covers are leaking a little oil but don't see the connection there. Tranny has been a little sloppy lately. Could be a harmonic vibration coming on at that RPM.
