ESC Inoperable
I've searched through the forum and see everything from wheel speed sensors, to throttle body issues, to accelerator pedal issues. Mine was an interesting experience. Hadn't had any issues previously. I was on a roadtrip and hit a bump at the joint of a bridge when it flagged and went into limp mode. I restarted the car and it was alright. It should also be noted that I had it on cruise control when this happened. I continued on my trip and it happened again while on a flat road, but cruise control was again enabled. This time after the restart I had the check engine light on. However, I was able to continue the next two hours of the trip not using cruise control. When I started it yesterday to drive, it did it right away, I restarted and turned the ESC off all together and didn't have any more issues. I think something the car being cold could have had an effect. It also now has an inconsistent idle, it will flux anywhere from 700rpm-1200rpm.
My car is one of the ones with the headbolt issues and to the best of my knowledge, they haven't been changed but I'm not sure how that would have caused the issues that I'm having.
I'm still on my roadtrip and supposed to leave tomorrow, I'm wondering if I'm good to go or I should just suck it up and have it shipped/rent a car to drive the rest of the 24 hour trip. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I did put a code scanner on it and the below is what it came back with.
clear the codes ... drive cautiously but up to speed for a couple miles and re scan ... if the cruise was fine and no major codes it could be fine to drive
check your coolant and oil levels.
