I was hoping to stock these in the event my front pads finally go and it would be nice to be ready for the 390s. That is NOT a good time to scramble for spacers.
considered both, but I really couldn't find out the main difference between the z23 and z26. turns out were couldn't find any z26 pads for my friends w213 e63,so we ordered the z23 f/r. He tried them for a few weeks and had nothing be good things to say about them, so i ordered the z23 for my car.
I don't know if the diference between the Z23 and Z26 is the culprit...but I ordered directly from your link ("Power Stop Z23-1450 Rear Z23 Evoluvtion Sport Carbon Fiber Infused Ceramic Brake Pads with Hardware") and
Firstly: I could not get the new pins to go through my calpiers so I had to re-use my factory pins;
Secondly: after installin, a friend noticed a scraping noise coming from the back calipers...I figured that perhaps I installed the clips wrong somehow. When I took the wheels off and inspected them, I saw that they were installed "correctly", however they were scraping against the outer edge of the brake disc, and there was no adjustment I could make to correct it. Luckily I hadn't thrown away the original hardware yet, so I pulled it out and compared..
In this pic, factory clip is on the left, and new Powerstop on the right
In this pic, factory on the right, Powerstop on the left...
You can see the new Powerstop clips are clearly different...
In this pic you can see how the Powerstop clips were scraping the
outer edge of the disc...
The pads themselves work perfectly, but for some reason the hardware was all wrong...both pins and clips...
In any case, just re-installed the factory pins and clips and problem solved.
Hi!
Can I ask you for the dimensions for the caliper spacers? Because on YT and in here there is nothing about it
you’ll find the dimensions in the comments under Kenny’s YT video,
but it’s 30mm OD, bore to fit a 12mm bolt, 12.5mm or like 31/64 what is about 12.3mm and 15mm in height. The 15mm is important to be the same on all four spaces to make sure the caliper will sit even on the spacers.
