In my opinion, and assuming no other obvious damage, the likely failure is the compressor. It's the hardest working part of the system. I replaced mine and resolved the error. Not difficult to replace and online sources for it are pretty reasonable. I would also change the little filter that provides clean air to the compressor.
Is this something I could do myself?
What is the cost of Compressor and part #. I did search but didn;t get any hits... thought perhaps you had the info handy.
I've only had a quick look on the trunk , but I assume the compressor is on the left side.

"Is this something I could do myself?" Hard to answer, but I had no trouble doing it, but I also had the car on a 4 post lift.
:What is the cost of Compressor and part #. I did search but didn't get any hits... thought perhaps you had the info handy."
I used this:
"I've only had a quick look on the trunk , but I assume the compressor is on the left side:" The compressor is on the driver's side but underneath the car, not accessible from inside trunk.

Joe

HI, I purchased a new compressor, installed it. It did not solve the issue.
Does osmething need to be coded etc ?
Tommorrow I will re verify that the compressor works, stand alone. I will also ensure power is getting to the connectors in the harness , just to double check again.
If all is good with the connectors and the compressor as a stand alone test , any odeas of what else to look for?

This video shows the unit taken apart so you can see what's inside.
Another video showing the diagnosis. He states he's going to get a new fuse. However, at 7:45 in the video you can see his solution.
So, I would, and did, remove the unit and check the fuse. The easy way is to just wiggle the tab inside the receptacle. It should not move. Then just find a good source for the part and replace the whole thing. The good news is that the compressor was likely bad, and you've already taken care of that.

Joe

I did some more tests. The relay switch in the trunk beside the air tank is good.
If I remove the relay switch and check voltage where the relay switch is installed , I have power.
I do not have power on the connector that plugs in to the compressor.
I don;t have any damged wires apparent.
Any other thinks I can check?

I did order a pre ownded terminal block A2125407050 , like pictured in the video above.
I am still looking take off the cover in order to inspect it.
The part I received does not look exactly like the one in the second video , it looks like the one in the first video.
The second video has 6 terminal posts by the green fuses. The first video has 4 terminal posts.
Which one should i have. Am I missing something or is A2125407050 not what i need for 2016 E63

HI Joe , just getting acces to my vehicle.
I see that the existing unit in my 2016 E63 is part number A2125407150 , not A2125407050.
Would you know the difference ?
Looks Like a pain to get the unit out to open it up.... and then not compatable.
Anf feedback appreciated.
Thx

My guess it may be a running change and the old part number may work. But where all the wires hook up on studs... the same number of studs are not the same on both units... SO I wouldn't know what to hook up where.

When you can get to the connectors, remove the one that connects to the black connector. Check to see if any of the spades inside the body are loose.

My malfunction light has been on for a bit but didnt see any issues. Just the other day my rear was slammed to the ground. Checking things out i noticed my pump wasnt coming on so decided to replace it. After replacing it the pump now kicks on and malfunction light tells me to wait. As the pump kicks on and off like 3 times the rear wont move at all. Could something be blocking air in the valve block not letting it go through? Any suggestions before i start taking it apart.
