Disclaimer: I purchased this vehicle last year with 64k miles. Vehicle had a fresh oil change when purchased, though I do not know what brand of oil was used. I decided to change the oil at the 2500 mile mark since I didn’t want to risk running on unknown oil for long. My vehicle has a stage 2 tune. I will do another analysis next year with the Liqui Moly that’s now in it.

Exactly why I use a 5w50 the 40w iimho is a little on the thinner side . Manufacturers tend to use an oil that protects engine and has some emissions and fuel efficiency all in one . Thicker oil has worse fuel economy, high protection oils have additives that aren't sometimes emission complaint. So I give up fuel
efficiency and maybe some cleaner emission for an oil that protects the engine internals better . Nice job on sending in that oil sample
Thanx, I've considered this but have never tried it. My car has had Mobil 1 for its whole life.
At first I told them that it had Mobil 1 in it because I assumed that’s what most people use in this engine but after talking to my BiL, he said better to tell them you don’t know what’s in it cause otherwise they would have compared it against other Mobil 1 5w40 samples. So I contacted them right after sending the sample out telling them that I don’t know what brand of oil was in it.
I love blackstone. 10k oil intervals with liquimoly 5w40 on my car and wear metals are always within spec. Ive been running the eurocharged e50 tune for 30k miles. TBN always shows there is plenty of life left with the oil and 13k mile intervals are doable

Suer, but, to keep up with the times....Mobil 1 did in the not too distant past "transition" and is not what you thought it was when y'all were growing up.
Three different reports so far, three different oil brands, all the same oil weight.
While T6 for my use case seems to be working great, other drivers and engines may see different results.
Proof that is C5 CZ's 2500 mile report is much worse than my 10,744 mile report, while Kevm14's 5000mi report is on par.
Bottom line: Do oil analysis for your specific car to determine what oil works best for your use case. Generalization of "this oil is best" doesn't cover everyone's usage.
May have been a typo. I'll probably be sending off another sample here shortly. I'm just past 3k miles since the last sample. This time, it'll be Liqui Moly that's sampled. So far at 3k miles, the engine is not consuming any oil.

Worse based on several wear metals, especially when factoring in your low mileage (compared to ours), and low mileage on the oil under test. Blackstone didn't really sound the alarm but wear metals seem to be on the high end of average. Maybe consider switching oils to see if that helps?
Here, you can see the differences, highlight rows are showing items that are above average. This doesn't mean it's something to be concerned with unless it's dramatic -- these are parts per million.
Interestingly, it seems like the longer the mileage, the more viscous the oil gets? "Correlation does not equate to causation "
I thought these were supposed to self-destruct by 120k?
I heard 100k, but here we are
Interesting about T6. Maybe these aren't as picky about oil as we thought. Calcium is high though.
I've always been a fan of T6, weirdly cheap, oil analysis on all vehicles always comes back pretty good except for one (switched to Mobil 1), no real issues.

That’s what I did right after I sent off that sample. I might do another one here soon. But my plan is to sell the car here soon. It’s a beast but I need something a bit more subdued like an M340i. Even then, prolly will wait.
PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)

Interesting you are going to BMW, not waiting for the E 53 instead? The driving reviews are out and you might like it.
Edit: As 3 series competes with the C-Class as you already know if you are downgrading from W212 E 63.
