Looking at a W212 E63 to buy, common problems thread?
Hello my friends from MBWorld,
I'm looking to buy a W212 E63 soon, on paper it seems quite promising but of course, I have to look into problems as the car ages and racks up those miles. I assume there is a thread out there with all the common 157 engine but I can't seem to find it. The mile range I'm looking at is probably 70,000-100,000.

There are a few really great resources on the 212 platform on these forums (I am not one of them). I just love the amount of support and time total strangers are willing to put in to help you keep your car going, or get it going again.

I hope to find one that already serviced the timing chain tensioners/cam adjustors/timing chain. I'm not too confident when it comes to working on timing issues. I onced had to replace a cam adjustor on a M278 engine and I really was confused for a long time trying to figure out where TDC was and how to position the adjustor and it's just a big pain in the ***.
