camshaft adjuster replacement
Do you mean the retaining tool isn't fitting in the hole in the back? There are two 'holes' in the back of the adjuster but only one allows for the tool to be inserted. If it isn't on the top, be sure you have the cams in the right place by using the flat plate on the rear of the cams. If you mean that you can fit it in the back with the camshaft lock in place, retaining tool can go on after you break the adjusters free and remove the camshaft lock. I do not use the retaining tool anymore, I put small bolts through all of my adjusters prior to installing the camshaft lock.
