m278 oil change/ Ceratec Question
so did oil change in pops s550. it has 155K miles. It has low boost pressure code and is a pretty chattery motor, probably camshaft or lifters.
anyways trying to just keep it going for now because repair or new old motor swap doesnt make financial sense
so the last shop that did oil change uses LM, and also uses ceratec bottle or 2. Their last invoice doesnt say it was used but when i drained the oil I was wondering could ceratec cause the oil to look like this.... or are we well beyond just bad turbos.cams on this motor.

Interesting you posted this. I changed the oil on my 2014 C350 yesterday and added Ceratec for the first time. I was filling from a 5 quart jug, so after adding a couple of quarts, I dumped the Ceratec into the jug and shook it up. I wanted to get all of it out of the bottles, so I added some clean oil and sloshed it around. What I poured into the engine looked like that (chocolate milk). Unfortunately, 5000 miles on that car will probably be about a year from now. But I will check when I check the oil level with the dip stick.

Yes, it does look like that. Kind of milky. Been using LM + 2 bottles of Ceratec on every oil change.
I hope you unplugged the oil solenoid with 155k miles on the clock. Should clean up that chatter with more oil flow, even at idle.

i didnt but i should have i know.
I had the car on a 4 post lift so it would have been hard to access the very front. I need to do it on my e63 also.
I havent followed that thread for a while need to catch up on it and probably order two dummie connectors to plug them
