So, this time I had a bad shock (it was clearly bad)...so, after MONTHS we were able to get two new ones together. OMFG!!!! The car handles SO different than it did. Cars, and more so suspension as we know "wear in" and "wear out" in general so slowly that we dont really notice.....well. This seriously is the BEST money I have put into the car since I purchased the grey E63S....

This is the bad one...we replaced both rears.

FWIW I've replaced both of the shocks in the back of my E63S wagon (both had begun leaking right around 95k miles), it was very straightforward and easy and took less than an hour's work per side
