2018 E63S Edition 1 United States
Has anybody worked a deal for their US edition 1 yet. I have a deposit on one and I simply placed the order early to get first in line without working "a deal". Curious to know what discount off MSRP I should go after. Should I expect the 8-10% off MSRP like i usually do on my AMG's or is that unreasonable to expect.

It's not unreasonable if you are comfortable shopping across the country

You should read though pulling the trigger forums and learn the ins and outs. Nobody that is concerned about purchasing price pays MSRP or above even on special editions. yes 4x4 squared and the other super premiums Gt's can be a exception but that's where you need to meet ownership or general managers before purchasing. The people that pay above MSRP don't do it because they have to they do it because they have enough cash to where it honestly doesn't matter. For the rest of connections are key.

You had asked this question in another thread and here is my response based on buying 10 AMG's over the past 16 years or so. Not all were of the elite status but most were either in the first or 2nd year of production. The GTS was my only Launch Car (aka Edition 1) and it did gather a higher price tag (less discount) than the others because I got it 2 days after it hit the dealership. I know the EPA issues are holding up these cars as well as other models and nameplates. Should be an interesting time as they are delayed towards the end of the quarter.
I would say that you have a very very small chance of getting that type of discount as an early adopter in the US. These first batch of cars will bring all the money (sticker and maybe a bump) as there are always those that want to be first on the block.
There is only 6% from MSRP to dealer invoice anyways and then a variable of holdback percentages behind the invoice dependant on the dealer volume sales. I can't see anyone walking in and grabbing one for that type of discount until the cars are picking up dust or supply clearly exceeds demand; and that will come at some point like it does for almost every AMG.

Didn't say you have to pay over list for it, just pointed out it sells for list, since there is no need to discount that thing.
Sporadic cases of a small discount may happen with long term, large number of purchases customers, where that discount is worth the future profit on other sales.
I was in MB sales for 10 years, from salesman to managing the place and purchased 24 cars from my MB dealer (since 2001), with the cheapest being CLK55 so I am familiar a little bit with sales practices.

Really? You think I dont have an allocation with one sitting at port already? I CAN GET mine just as fast you can and can get it without your shipping costs and its for me to own not for me to sell as a dealer employee.

2019 E63S wagon; 2016 Landrover Landmark
Could build one on the UK site a month or so ago. I would love the Edition 1 wagon, but as long as it could have all the options, which was not the case last I knew. HUD and driver assist I think were among the options n/a on Option 1. Or at least according to Mr AMG in his review of his car.
