Check engine light came on

so I think this car is pissed it was at the VPC for 4 months!

check engine light came on, the drive modes like individual, sport, etc is disabled.

It does not seem like the car is in limp mode. If it is just disconnect the battery wait 10 Minutes and then reconnect and that should clear the fault codes right?

dealer can’t take the car back in until Wednesday... want to make sure I don’t get stuck getting back home from work!

I'd just go to the closest auto parts store and buy a ODB2 reader so you can see what the codes are for yourself. They are inexpensive (~$60+), super easy to use, and I think most also let you clear the codes - although, in this case, I'd think you'd want to preserve them for the dealer to investigate.

Might save you some worrying between now and Wednesday.

Good luck!

Take it in and have it checked. Could be as simple as a loose connector.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Or for that matter a loose gas cap that would give a evap code. If you do get a code reader just make sure it's the right type, you could ask them at the auto parts store, I'm pretty sure it's canbus. It'll all be worth it when
you get the bugs worked out of your car, these cars are a real nice driving machine, now that my car is beyond break in I'm enjoying all the performance this car has to offer. Getting my Rear axle oil changed tomorrow
@ 1950 miles.

It is a great car and I’ve been enjoying driving it more day to day than my other toys!

I’ll have the dealer I bought it from just come pick it up sometime next week to check what went wrong. Just thought some of the bugs would have been worked out after the first year in Europe.

There will be a code stored in the ECU. I would read it just to see what the issue was that triggered the CEL

Yes, I do and they will pick the car up tomorrow to let me know what it is. But did not want the car going into limp mode or not start for any reason in my garage and block the other cars.

Mine (two weeks old) has the check engine light on as well. Had the same issue twice with my former 2011 A45 AMG. In both cases they have reset it, sent logs to Germany but with no use
So frustrating!
