After reading this thread, I start doing some research on radars/laser detectors/jammers. Now I want to install one hahaha. I looked for Escort Max 360 CI or AL Priority with TX sensors.

I have two questions

1. After watching so many videos on how this works, these devices totally jams lasers. What happens when police see their laser gun is not working against the car? Is it obvious that the car has a laser jammer ?

2. Do you know any shop in Montreal who sell and install these devices?

You are alerted that there is laser, so slow down immediately and push mute button to deactivate the jammers so the ycan get reading. As long as you do it in a timely fashion, no worries. Max 360 ci needs authorized installer, check website for your area. It is best system, significantly better than the 9500 ci.

Yep exactly as pmarin said. Once the police officers laser gun is jammed, they need to reset it before they can fire it again (apparently it is not obvious to the officers that their gun was jammed). So while they are resetting the gun, you hit the mute button on the console to deactivate the jammer and slow down. When they hit you again, hopefully you will be going speed limit.

And yes MAX ci or MAX 360 ci is the way to go. The 360 gives you both front and rear protection while the MAX ci is just the front. Also as I mentioned earlier, older Benz command systems had an interface for the Escort so that you can see the notifications / control settings via command system and steering wheel. I am sure Escort will have one for the 2018 systems soon enough.

Also the quote I got was 5k USD for Max 360 ci with installation. Command system integration would have been additional.

Check out the AL Priority system. Can do front and rear radar, and the only effective laser jamming. Works on Dragon Eye guns too! Much less $ than Escort. Read the reviews, the range is great. My installer highly recommends. I will likely go Al when my car arrives.

One problem with this battery operated escort solo is it’s not as sensitive as even a escort 8509. I think the 8500 gives a warning about 5 seconds before this on. It is real convienent though and good for rental cars.

Guys Escort is having problems jamming Dragon Eye. They recently did an update of the firmware which now can jam dragon eye laser but it is not 100% effective on all time.

The best system from all the reviews I have seen and read is the AL priority dual + 1 TX. So you will have 3 head in the front and 3 in the back composed of 2 normal head + 1 TX.

The TX is 100% effective on dragon eye.

I assume you are referring to AI Design in Tuckahoe, NY? I used them to do a custom Rear Seat Entertainment system on my V70R, and they were amazing. As I pointed out in an earlier post, they have long-been among the best in the biz for hidden systems. I would be curious to see how your install goes and what the display is (RVM is nice place assuming they can do the etching).

Have a Max 360 in the other car without IR glass. Our S-Class had the same glass/cutouts and the 360 is worthless as the IR coating is all around. I use a Max for that reason but the cutout isn't big enough for full view of the GPS antenna, so on cloudy days it may loose GPS as it only picks up 1-2 satellites. Escort live is the real bonus where we live

My escort seems to work through the lower cutout, it's just that the detector is not very sensitive being the battery powered solo model. I found a older Beltronic V985 and am going to compare that to the Solo and see if the sensitivity is better, I dunno maybe the glass is messing with the sensitivity of the detector meaning I'll have to go with a remotely mounted sensor behind the grill or something, I just wish these these type of detectors were not so expensive.

i had a c450 with the al priority system. I used the valentine v1 and the system worked perfectly. I have yet to install it back into the E63 as I haven’t found a mounting point for the rear jammers. The system works amazingly well. I had the Bluetooth module gps module and radar module and used all of them. The radar module muted all radar and laser signals under 55 that’s used settable and can be lower. The Bluetooth I used only for updating firmware but was very handy considering The other option was to plug in a flash drive to the module. Space I absolutely love the system and paid a mechanic to remove it from the sea 450 so that I can install it in the E 63. I can’t wait to get it back up and running
