Upgrading audio system...
looking into upgrading the audio system in my wagon. The optional 3D isn’t available for the wagon and I’m missing a subwoofer and the extra punch from a louder system. Talked to a few shops so far. Considering upgrading the front door 3.5” speaker and tweeter and adding a amp for those and another for a sub. Either going with a passenger footwell thin subwoofer or a sub in the trunk area wall...
anyone installed led an upgraded system yet in their ‘18? Looking for ideas etc...

There is the front bass system which effectively replaces the rear sub woofer they use to use on top of the spare tire in my 2012 wagon. I find the bass to be pretty good. It's the midrange and the highs that think are not as good as they could be.

It's based on a c63's audio system, but I suspect it's very similar. Depending on how stock you want to keep the interface, seems like you need to tap the line, normalize the signal, amplify / crossover, output as desired. Depending on how crazy you want to get, seems like you can get good results with just the tap/normalization/amplification and stock speakers in stock locations.

I think JL Audio makes a device that cleans up the output signal and improves the sound, think it's called a cleansweep .https://creativeaudio.net/cl441dsp-b/ For me the sweet sounds of the exhaust in Open mode is the main sound I need to be hearing. I think they stopped making the cleansweep and replaced it with a unit called a audio fix or something like that, but this refurb cleansweep I listed about sounds like a good deal, the audio fix is nearly double that price.
