The ED1 only come with the sport seats.
I wouldn't go that far WRT rivaling therapeutic chairs. Well, maybe some of them, but I have a portable massage thingy that I can set up in my office chair or use on my couch, etc. It does far stronger massage that what the seats in the E63S do. That said, I thought the seats in the E63 were pretty nice, with a wide range of different modalities to choose from. My wife loved them.

Congratulations on the car! My brother has the RS7 - so I have been able to drive it a few times, and it is definitely a beast. You can’t even compare that throttle response with the 212 E63S, but is it comparable to the 213? Also, when the car is broken in and you are able to lay into it, let us know if you feel torque limiters kicking in.
Take care.

A good friend had the GLE 63S for a few months, he loved it but he is a bit of a conservative and thought it was too loud so he traded it for a Range Rover. I personally really liked the looks, sound, and it drove really well for a SUV/CUV style car.

The MCT has become a much better tranny with proper software.

Thanks Dan, Ive been doing a hard break in from mile 10. Warm up the engine oil to 180 plus and then rip the rpms up and down thru the gears but not leaving it in any one range for long periods. Ive done this on all my AMG's and other cars. So Ive already get the car up past 130 mph and have done several dig launches.

2018 E63S AMG
I did quite a bit of in town driving after I picked up my car in Europe as well as a nice mix of highway and autobahn driving. Never noticed any jerky clutch engagement.
I was thinking about a more aggressive break-in procedure than what was in the manual, but after being told to follow the manual by the person giving me the walk through on the car at the factory, I decided to follow the book as advised. The guy seemed really familiar with AMGs and being a factory trained person I figured I'd listen to him as it's my first AMG.
Also, who knows what kind of data logging they do and I'd hate to have a warranty claim denied because I was too aggressive.
That said, I did run it right up to the prescribed limits - and perhaps a bit beyond a couple of times - during the break-in.
Following break-in I did manage to hit 170 MPH on the autobahn the final night before turning in the car and spent quite a bit of time in the 100 to 130 MPH range.
The car was totally at ease there and felt like we were doing 70 MPH. Don't know how I'm going to manage now on our slow US interstate roads ;-)

Thanks for the quick response! Glad to hear the car so far is sans torque limiters. For me it it took a few hundred miles after break in to notice it in my E63 and my previous CLA45. Hoping MB did away with them for the 213.

I have no doubt they are still there... Just had the limits raised. When I dyno tune my car I'll have my guy check the oem thresholds.

Edit: when I said "just" had the limits raised I was talking that Benz probably just only did that with the W213's.
Ha you did just fine. My camera is the Samsung Note 8 Cell Phone

So I added 12mm spacers to the rear courtesy of SupremePower in Fullerton CA. Here are some before and after pics. We did some angle tests to compress the fender (im lowered) and the fitment is spot on... just a few mm of room while the tire is tucked (cambered in).

Hey Vic, out of curiosity, how does the e63s compare to your AMG GTS? Which one is faster in a straight-line, both rolling and from a stop?

Looks nice, wish the car came stock like your after picture.

Ill say it this way:
In the real world do 10 line ups without pre meditation and the E63S will take the GTS every single time. The GTS (mine is tuned) has a grip problem unless you know exactly how to launch it and get the perfect roll out. It still will put up mid 3's in a zero to 60 but its not going to win a launch contest with the E.
From a roll the cars are more evenly matched but the E63S feels just a bit faster thru the quarters and the tests show the same (trap speeds at 127 while the GTS is closer to 125). I do think that as the speeds exceeded those thresholds the GTS with the more efficient transmission and lighter weight would pull but thats into some serious mph levels.
This would be a stock vs stock comparo. The tuned GTS would still lose in the dig due to grip and wheelspin but would pull the E63S from a roll because of the gains in hp.

I must say the RS7 as every car in its class looks more polarizing, but I agree more sleek.
It’s a more beautiful looker than the more tame/conventional E63 design but stilll looks great
once tuned im sure the E will be the faster one in all cases dig/roll.

I have not doubt a tuned E should pull from a roll but the tuned RS7 from a dig is just amazing. The quattro benefit is the grip but also the bane is the inefficiencies at higher speeds via parasitic loss. I agree that the RS is the more sleek car so Im glad I have the night black paint to make the E more menacing vs normal E sedans.
