Check engine light came on again.
So my check engine light came on again on the E63s
and just like before the driving modes were not operable. After about an hour of sitting started the car back up and the check engine light was still on but the driving modes were working again. My dealer dropped off the GTC edition 50 I bought yesterday and they now have to come get this car to repair again.
Looks like replacing the front SAM module didn’t work.
on another note I wrapped the front grill to complete the black out of the car last week. Looks great with the glossy black paint!

Mine came on once, I just cycled the car and it never came back. There is definitely something sensitive going on with some of these cars.
Side note: car looks great.

Not again... dealer better do a better job of looking into the codes and getting MB Germany involved.
Car - looks nice all black'd out! Aggressive and mean... at least sitting there (lol).

My check engine light came on a few times and went off before the trans started acting up. There we're codes "stored" in almost all modules of the system but no other symptoms until the trans started acting up.

Oh geez, sorry to hear about this again. I hope this gets resolved quickly this time around and it never returns. At least you can drive the GTC in the interim and get some miles on it.

Thanks! Leaving town tomorrow for the Holidays so they just picked the car up. Told them not to bring it back until it was properly fixed, nav updated and to make sure the transmission has no issues like some of the others members posted.

The grill looks great. Maybe see if there is anyway for them to update the other edition one stuff too. I know the vehicle data screen is much nicer in the newer editions. Hopefully they can do this although not sure.

Please have the shop foreman check the following items as I was waiting for a regular service to address most of these issues.
- Check engine light comes on and driving modes ( individual, comfort, sport etc) no longer are able to be changed.
- There is still a click or light clunk from the rear end in any mode when lightly accelerating from a stop. ..... in sales who brought the car back to me last time heard it on our test drive and can go over this with you. My business partner just received the same car a few weeks ago and it NEVER does this.
- The transmission is sport modes is not operating properly as it downshifts from 3 to 2 and 4 to 3 so hard it unsettles the car. It does the same when up shifting from 1 to 2. Once again my partner has the same car and it operates much smoother.
- The Navigation or Command software needs an update as my partner has an August build of this car and has different screens and options. There should be a software update.
- Also the car is due for the differential fluid to be changed per Mercedes at the 2000 mile mark.

If they "can't reproduce" the shifting issues, open a case with MB, they will ask to drop the trans pan to look for debris. So far several folks have found debris in the pan.

Thanks! The dealer will do it as I have a good relationship with them and they want to make sure I don’t have anymore issues

Same Issue - No solution
Hey guys,
I have the exact same issue with my E63S, brought it into the shop multiple times only to find out they cannot figure out the issue and now are going to replace the spark plugs which take about 3 weeks to ship to Canada. This car has been more of an annoyance than anything else for me. Cant believe Mercedes still can't figure issues out like these for such expensive vehicles smh.
