I always like C&D reviews as their numbers usually are quite favorable (if its a car I own LOL). Now lets see what the F90 M5 does with C&D.

i have a feeling it wasn't driver error. With AWD, automatic tranny and launch control, it takes a bit of skill out of the equation. The trap speed is 2 mph higher in the C&D test. That tells me something was affecting the power in the MT test (quality of gas, ambient conditions etc).

More comparos, these are a dime a dozen and dont show the conditions or when each race took place either but they are very close to each other. Ill still say that the AMG running at over 400 lbs heavier is doing a great job:

CURB WEIGHT: 4288 lb

C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 2.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 6.6 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 11.1 sec

Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 3.7 sec

Standing ¼-mile: 10.9 sec @ 129 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 163 mph

Isn't it interesting that the heavier car won on the the skid pad?

I'm looking forward to a back to back comparison. It's hard to read much into tests done on different days. Wouldn't surprise me if the M5 is faster though given the weight advantage and the displacement advantage.

All things being equal (conditions, track, etc) the M5 should win with its 300 lb advantage as you stated. Once a tune comes available the extra .4 litres will only add. But I still dont find the car exciting from a looks perspective. Maybe the launch car with the matte red...

I really like the launch car. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.

But agree that the M5 styling is uninspired. Also I really don't like the cabin compared with the E.

these outputs are not realistic. Stock e63 s amg is around 3.4-3.5 to 0-62 mph.
