2018 Mercedes Benz E63S AMG is this a fair deal? Thoughts before I purchase?

Hey guys I am new here. Although I’ve owned five E63S in a row, I am
haven’t had a chance to contribute to this forum. Anyways I just sold my 2014 obsidian Black E63S and have been obsessing over getting the new 2018 for the past year. Like many of you I am sure I have spent countless days and nights building and configuring my new car on the Mercedes Benz website. Being as picky as I am I was planning to custom spec a new build with my local Mercedes Benz dealer, but I am told that it could take up to four to five months. After exhausting a nationwide search I am only focused on finding an obsidian on black car as I feel obsidian paint doesn’t show as many swirled as jet black does. Do I am down to two cars. One is a $125,000 MSRP window car that has the AMG race seats, carbon fiber II package, black wheels, AMG performance package, Caron fiber trim, night styling, AMG exhaust and a few other options. The dealer has been extremely easy to work with and I managed to negotiate $6,000 off the window sticker. The second car is a much heavier window $135,000 MSRP with Ceramic Brakes, the Bermeister 3D sound package (which I find to be incredible), both carbon fiber I and II packages, non AMG race seats but with massage and rapid heating, doesn’t have carbon fiber interior but instead has the flowing lines which is pretty, night styling and carbon fiber engine cover and AMG performance exhaust system. The three options I wish it had was the AMG race seats and AMG performance package as well as carbon fiber interior trim. This dealer has been tougher to work with but I managed to get the same $6,000 discount after much negotiation. To help me make a final decision what are everyone’s thoughts on AMG race seats vs massaging seats, is the AMG option package with the heads up display and lane changing really worth it? Thoughts on carbon fiber interior trim vs flowing lines. Obviously this is a car I plan to keep for many years and if I had any patience I would build my perfect car with AMG race seats, carbon everywhere, ceramic brakes etc. unfortunately I can’t combine these two cars into one and I can’t wait four to five months for one to come in from the factory. Which direction would you guys go? I appreciate everyone’s help and I look forward to contributing on here more!!!

Not that this will necessarily help with your decision, but I find it odd that a $135k e63 wouldn’t have a P03 performance package.

I know I agree. How important is the P03 option? I can’t believe that lane changing and heads up display isn’t standard on an E63, Mercedes is following the Porsche a la cart model. If I spec out the car I really want it’s $145,000 for an E-Class! Outrageous!

I used the heck out of the Distronic features in P03. I would really miss them if for some reason I had to have a different car without them.

I have the comfort seats and am happy with them. I'd probably be fine with the sport seats too, but as this is a daily driver, and one that I hope to spend a lot of hours in wanted to go the comfort route.

Ordered the car and picked up through the EDP so waited many months on the front end and a couple on the back end as my car is just now about ready to pop out of the VPC after its trip back to the US.

Would have been nice to just go pick it up right away at a dealer's lot. But this way I got every option I wanted. Worth the wait I thought since I'm planning on keeping the car for a long time.

It's always fun to build a car online to your own spec...I did the same many times as well. Decided not to order due to my level of impatience in general, and then decided on must have options. For me, these were performance seats, diamond white metallic, night package, dinamica headliner, any trim besides carbon fiber, and no 3d sound. Looked at all the available cars on the market, and found one. It ended up having the premium package (HUD, distronic), so I scooped it up. I have since turned off all features of the package,as I find them more annoying than anything. On the flip side, you'll find many people who love that package and use it often! I'm not a cruise control person; I'll drive for several hours and still actively drive the car.

Good luck...you'll enjoy the w213. I came from a w212 and this is quite the upgrade.
