Lateral Support of Massage Seats...

For those of you already in your E63s cars who have Multicontour Massage Seats, how is the lateral support during spirited driving? I have a Viper with the "Performance Seats" and am not sure I want such seats in my daily driver. However, I do want to avoid a sloppy seat that offers little lateral support when cornering, etc. NOTE: all MB seats are great, so this is not a knock on any model of seats!

Thank you for your thoughts!

I'm happy with them. They dynamically inflate as the car detects any Gs in that direction so you're squeezed into place. More Gs, more squeezing. You can adjust how aggressive they are.

Held me fine during a pretty darn spirited rip up and down Palomar Mt yesterday

Can't compare to the performance seats as I haven't driven a car with them yet.

The thigh bolsters are not very good. The active and adjustable back bolsters are excellent. If you need thigh bolsters to stay in your seat then these are not for you. However I find I don't slide around at all on the seat because of the friction of my weight on the seat, and the back bolsters nicely hold me in place in tight cornering.

FWIW We really like these seats a lot and are glad to have these seats over the performance seats. However if there was a more comfortable performance seat with massage function (like the BMW M5 seats) then I would have taken those. Sadly Mercedes doesn't offer such an option.

Ive driven two cars with the Massaging Seats and own the car with the Performance Seats. I can drive for longer trips in the PS car and have no comfort issues. The seats really hold you in much like my 18 way seats in my Turbo S cars and now my new 991.2 GTS. The seat feels more aggressive than even my AMG GTS seat and that says alot. If you want the utmost of lateral support thru the torso range, the PS's are the way to go.

Disclaimer, Im not of the buffet type of body shape so normally that might allow one to conclude that the PS's would be less comfortable and thats not the case.

I got the Performance seats and yes they are a little uncomfortable on long drives. I have the manual seat bolsters- I have to accelerate and corner hard to take care of any stiffness I might have.

I test drove a E63s wagon with Massage seats in the canyons and told the salesman I would pass on buying the car because of the sloppy lateral support.
The sport seats I ordered are awesome for support and comfort but the seat ventilation does nothing..
