New to the forum! E63S Wagon in Matte Diamond Silver
Hey guys
I am long-time reader, first-time poster (technically, second). Watied 8 months for my delivery and I haven't regretted it at all. I sold my G55 AMG and 997.1 Turbo because of being a new dad. I think the wagon is the perfect blend of those two cars. Already taken it on a mind-bendingly fast road trip, already backed into a rock, and bent a bunch of radiator fins (which still pains me). I think I'll get the radiator grill covers from Zunsport.
Anyways, I chose a Diamond Silver, and put a matte wrap. Also changed the chrome pieces
to matte, to match the front grille (that was my wife's idea). Finally, a gloss black wrap to complete the roof line.
Happy to be officially part of the forum!

Thanks! I went in looking to order a Lunar Blue (or maybe Piedmont Green) with brown leather. But my salesguy convinced me to look into Diamond Silver. I was super happy with it...I don't think any colour looks bad on an E63. My favourite is the matte wrap on chrome handles and rear trim. It matches the front grille's brushed chrome perfectly. I'm not a big fan of Porsche's night package where they make the door handles black, and I didn't like the chrome, so this was the best plan IMO.
Next will be wheels...is there a wheel thread here for E63?
see the difference the wrap makes

None with the wrap. My paddle shifters don’t work, so getting them checked out next week along with the 3000km rear diff flush. I have bent a lot of radiator and intercooler fins on a road trip and wash. These grill openings look awesome, but they’re open to damage. Not supposed to use a power washer to clean bugs off the radiators, but then the bugs don’t wash out because there’s no exit out the vents. So...tweezers to clean? Crazy. Done my best to straighten as many fins as I can, and will probably go with a Zunsport grill as others have.

Ah. I bet Canada has factory privacy glass for the rear from the factory. As far as I know, US doesn’t even have that as an option.

Thanks a lot. Just went to a rainy cars and coffee and the matte wrap really stood out in the overcast. HRE’s coming next week so I’ll hopefully post some new shoes soon! We need a wheel forum for W213 (if there isn’t one already).

Gorgeous. Looking forward to the styles you went with. There is a Wheel/W213 thread somewhere here. I’m waiting for Vic55 to post his new 5-spoke Anteras.

I'm new to car moding and detailing and I find it fabulous how one can change the looks of a car and be able to do it and reverse it later.
I didn't get the matte chrome of the door handles to match the front grill. Did not notice that it looks matte :/ was that the reason?
Also, was that a clear bra wrap or a vinyl wrap? What brands? Thanks!

Theres plenty of threads out there even on this forum that debate which wrap to go with. Most choose Xpel with a ceramic coat. You can choose Suntek as well. For me, I chose 3M matte wrap. It comes also with a 10 year warranty like all the others. In the end, you can’t go wrong with a vinyl wrap. And it protects your original paint (already saved me many times!)

Yeah, for sure, but you use a PPF /clear bra not a vinyl wrap correct?
What I was asking is the matte of the door handles. I guess the front grill chrome looks different and is brushed aluminum while the door handles are more chrome. And that is why you wrap them too.
Looks great and you are more protectef
