Are you purchasing or leasing? If leasing, consider the net cost of the CCB's over the lease term. On my 2019 build, the CCB's add $115/month to the lease payment, before MSD's (per the online configurator), or $4140 over 36 months. Steel rotors, pads, etc on my 2015 E63 were a bit over $5k at 30k miles. And the CCB's put off no brake dust.

And did I mention the CCB's put off no brake dust?

Don't have one yet, but I would be buying. I see your point. Has a z06 carbon edition in the past enjoyed the cc brakes on that a lot. I'm in the fence . Difference is I'm married now and my wife loves to pinch pennies so if they are more expensive to buy and maintain she'll know.

I've been workinge reading these boards for a while.

Its an online forum. A lot of posts are going to be people posting about issues just because of that. Its human nature to post about problems seeking advice instead of posting about uneventful days with a completely reliable car. Fwiw I've had mine 3 months and 2000 odd miles and have had no issues at all. No regrets whatsoever.

Hi Jimmy-K, think about it this way: There are thousands of airline flights every day but you never hear "Late breaking news! No planes went down today." No, you only hear about the one that sucked birds into its engines and had to make a crash landing or some other unfortunate mishap which, thank goodness, is a rather rare occurrence. As others have mentioned the majority of owners of the E63s have been happy with their car. I personally have one of three 2018 Edition 1 wagons and though it only has about 200 miles on it I feel fortunate to have acquired it. I find the suspension to be firm but not jarring at all and the fit and finish is top notch. There are no squeaks or rattles and it drives like a smaller car. Cars in this class, especially new models, are so complex that they are bound to have some early teething pains. But overall this is a high quality machine that one won't see at every street light.
