I finally installed the Zunsports I have had for a few months now, even though I have already been a victim to a rock in the center cooler. I prefer the look of the slats, but these look better than I thought they would in person. The little clips on the outer grilles do scratch a portion of the plastic frames of the slates a little, but they are behind the grilles. Hence, they are not visible for the most part unless you remove the grilles.

i bought them also but haven't installed them yet. still waiting to see if someone reports some effect on the cooling (i doubt it), or rock damage even with them installed and to see how they look in different cars.
can't the scratch of the clips be avoided with some masking tape or similar? not only when installing but leaving it there between the clips and the plastic frames

You might be thinking about putting tape around the painted portion where the outer portion of the grilles slide against when mounting. I did use painters tape around those portions.
However, there are two clips extending rearward from the face of the grille. These clips slide against the outer frame surrounding the slats, and hook onto the rear edge of the outer frames. Hence, you could put tape on that frame portion, but there is no way to remove it after the grill is mounted since it is behind the grille. I did round the edges of the clips with a file on the second grille, and that did minimize the scratching a bit.
Edit: I just reread your post, and I suppose you could leave the tape there, but that would be fairly visible through the grating.

Does anyone use these with the factory guards for the MY19 cars? It looks like my wagon has the factory guards for the sides only and not the center.
If so, does the factory guards need to be removed first?

Just install zunsport and that's it. Don't need to remove anything. btw my car also has factory plastic pieces as someone here calling them "guards"

I bought these on Amazon and decided against installing them (looks/hassle)
I’m past my return policy if anybody wants to make an offer/is interested.

then i placed the lateral grills. i stuck a darken painter tape with the clips to avoid scratching the plastic slates. they are not visible from the outside.
no change in temps so far neither noticed any loss of power.
now i need to place the center grill. but this part I am not liking. it seems I have to drill the plastic with a screw to fix it? I hate to make holes on my car. I did not look much into the instructions but i understand that the screws are screwed to the plastic behind. is this correct?

I wish someone would post a pic of their car's front with them and without them. I know I'm in the minority (of 1) but I'm not a fan of the look from what I see. Don't hate. I think I'm going to roll that dice and not buy them.

If they are "supposed" to be on car to prevent something bad from happening, why wouldn't a car company as brilliant as MB have just put them on to begin with? This seems crazy to me that something bad could happen if it flies into this part of the car. Also, I just went on their site and looked up GRILLS and Mercedes and nothing at all came up for a 2018 S63. Does someone have this link?

I see you are in MD. If you purchased from MB of Hagerstown, I would expect the Alex Folz in service would take care of you. He's always bugging me to "drive" my car
