I think the computer generates a dealer arrival for every car, but the system is completely oblivious to delays, holds, etc. For instance mine had an original dealer delivery date in February but arrived the first week in May. It's just when the car should arrive based on production.

Really? I’ve been getting screen caps from my US dealer—dealer ETA has always been blank.

Your dealer knew whats up from the get-go. My dealer ETA was July 22-26th, 2018 (the range is due to few status updates)

Valiant Ace seems to be parked outside of Costa Rica for the past few days. :wall:

Maybe that's how they avoid overcrowding at the VPC.

If the VPC starts to overflow they'll just stop loading cars they can't sell yet at the origin port.

She's in port in Caldera, CR. There's an AIS (ship information system) black hole in some parts of SoAm/LatAm.

Wonder if you can get it retroactively. My E63S was delayed from January to April and I bought a ‘12 SLS new. That would be nice but probably not.

You may have just saved me 1000 bucks as I own a 2017 C63s, how do I go about getting this? Just print and bring to dealer?

all dealers know about it.. just mention it to them. MBUSA also even sent out a notice to all dealers about it. They should have your information in the computer system about past purchases.

its just chilling.. haha.. which port is your car heading to? It’s not expected to reach Long Beach until August 29th.

Long Beach. Originally scheduled to arrive August 17, then 23, and now I guess 29? Sounds like intentional delay knowing they will not be released once they arrive.

BigDeeLA 08-20-2018 02:32 AM

Well MB doesn’t control the timing of when the ship arrives.. that’s all by the shipping company.. delays are common.. it’s all approx.. sometimes they come the exact scheduled time frame from the time it leaves Germany and other times it’s a few days earlier or a few weeks later.

Its just because we all order cars so we want it as fast as possible.. but the fact we won’t get the cars to mid Sept thru mid Oct you will be just fine timing wise.

mine has been at the Long Beach VPC since August 6th... nothing I can do about it besides wait until someone at MB feels like they are ready to release it to my dealer which is about 30 min away from the port... hopefully it’s before Oct

Good, reasonable logic. Just hoping the boat didn't sink :p: Not sure I could do another 6+ month wait.

Dang it... more SUV’s approved by CARB today. GLE and GLS. No E-Class of any kind yet.

A colleague said she's having engine difficulties. There are thousands of cars on this ship and not just Daimler products. The ship isn't being intentionally delayed.

Ugh. Okay as someone who knows nothing about international cargo shipping, that sounds scary.

yeah bummer...? I’m just holding out hope that the E Coupe and Cab come earlier based on MBUSA posting as of Aug 9 on their web site that the E-class sedans are “Late 2018” and the coupe and cab are “by fall 2018”

It happens. Nothing to worry about. The people that operate these are consummate professionals. Having sailed on one from Bremerhaven to Brunswick a number of years ago, I can speak first hand to how they conduct themselves and ensure the security/safe arrival of the precious cargo on board.
