The car was still pulling strong when I let off because we were running out of room. I have no doubt it will do the full 186 MPH.
But it was the last night we had in Germany so no more opportunities to try again. We had finished the break-in a few hundred miles earlier, but were just on highways so didn’t have much of a chance till then. Didn’t even do my first race start till close to the 2000 mile mark just before the rear diff fluid change.
Fontana was a fun track. Have been a bit over 160 MPH on the “front straight“ (the banked turn) at Fontana on my GSXR-750. Cool watching the bikes in front leaving huge black stripes from the rear tire exiting the infield all the way as you drive up on to the banking. A bit more dramatic than the E63 which was calm and collected at the same speed - a lot less wind noise too ;-)
