CEL on, vibration on acceleration.

CEL on, vibration on acceleration.
Took a trip from Cleveland to Niagara, 180 miles each way, on the way back, about 3 miles from home, I stopped to pick something up and put the car in park, leaving the engine running. Car had about 5,000 mi on the odometer.
Once I got back in, the CEL came on and there was heavy vibration on acceleration, otherwise everything okay, temperatures all normal. I got home, stopped the car, switched the ignition off then on, light went out and everything supposedly back to normal, acceleration fine again.
My concern is that this will happen again. I don't trust that it was just a "thing".
Any ideas what this might be?
