Amazon Echo (Alexa) in-car setup
Hey guys,
Per the subject, I've now had an Echo Dot in my car (behind the cup holders) for a month or so. It's more useful than I thought it might be (one of those gadgets where trying it out yields opportunities to do things more simply than I'd otherwise realized). While it's working well enough with the car's WiFi hotspot, I cannot get it to use Bluetooth audio--either input (mic) or output. This appears to be a known issue but the posts on the topic are somewhat stale so I figured I'd throw it out here: did anyone manage to pair the Echo with their car's sound system?

Sounds interesting I never thought about trying that with a Echo. I might just reactivate my wifi hotspot and give it a try. I suspect they have the bluetooth locked out pretty good kinda like how MB locks out video going to the screen. I've been trying to figure out a way around that one for a while with no answers. It would be great to just beam my cable online TV to the screen for when I'm stopped at rest areas and to watch the news and what not.

Based on my research, the MB Bluetooth is expecting a specific type of authentication that, apparently, the Echo dot doesn't support... still digging.
