MY19 Launch Schedule

Whether on the dealer end or mbusa, why should the customer who has been inconvenience at the very least pay the agreed price for a car that wasn’t delivered on time. I could understand if there was a parts delay, but the consensus seems to be on this forum that it was for marketing purposes. If this was communicated back in April or May since the schedule seemed to be circulating at MBUSA then my perspective may be different, but it wasn’t.

And I put a deposit down in April a MY19 wagon, transferred the lease of my only car — an X5M — in June with the expectation my car would be at the dealer by September or October at the latest. So yeah, I don’t want to wait until November or December, but I’m not deluded into thinking Mercedes owes me some recompense because I decided to order a new car instead of taking a MY18 off a dealers lot.

The ageed price is the base ( not officially listed but shown here as 106350. You may not have an agreed price but I do. Base $ (?) plus options minus discount, fleet discount and or loyalty discount. Your right they don’t owe me anything, doesn’t mean it is good business practice. I am sure there are things that the dealer can negotiate on whether it is a maintenance package or perhaps winter tires since the high performance summer tires will be useless in December in NY.

I ordered the sedan last week which is scheduled to be built in December and delivered in January, according to the dealership. Seeing all the delivery delays in this thread I'm already expecting February to be more realistic of a target. I just hope that target doesn't get pushed even further into the year. Sometimes I wonder if my dealer said January vs something even later just so that I would place my order with them. I'm hoping the dealer and my interests align and they would like to get paid ASAP so they will try to get me the vehicle ASAP.
As far as pricing, like Benowen said, they went with a base price of $106,350 but did caution that the official MSRP from MBUSA could end up being higher, or lower (yeah right). Dealer went $106,350 + all options - 6% discount off the total.

I still haven’t decided if I’m going to fly out and drive it back or if I should just have it shipped on a trailer. How was your experience having it shipped out to you? Was it an enclosed trailer? Do you remember how much you paid and how far of a trip it was? Thanks!

I paid $2100 to have it trucked, enclosed, from Baltimore to the Bay Area. Took about a week. Offset my discount a bit, but as it turns out, just glad I got my car!

But for a covered trailer across the country you’re looking at $1500-2000 minimum. From Colorado to CA it’s probably less since the distance isn’t like it would be from the East Coast.

Actually I’ve never gotten a car out of state. There’s another issue of having to get a local sheriffs office. to sign off or something since the car wasn’t originally sold in California and it has to be checked off as California-compliant before it can come here so some sort of law enforcement agency in PA had to sign some paperwork.

Not sure if that is the case or not, but I haven't had to do anything like that yet. Make sure you have your smog certificate before you register at the DMV. The hardest part was shelling out $14,500 for sales tax for the right to live in our lovely state of California.

Do you pay property tax on cars in CA? VA car sales tax is 4% (had been 3% forever before last year) but then you have to pay ~2-3% (based on your county) of the appraised value of the car every year, for as long as you own the car.

yeah but I think for us in California it’s somewhere between 0.75-1.5% the value of the car (at registration time every year).
