2017 AMG SL63 _ 19 AMG S65 Cpe _ 23 R8 Spyder Rwd _ 17 911 C2S _ 16 Boxster Spyder _ 01 BMW Z8 etc.
By by the way- as a person who has bought three 2019 model year Mercedes cars this year (SL450, E450 cab, incoming C63S coupe) as well as a 2017 SL63 AMG also bought this year— I have something to say about the Mustang... I just took delivery of a 2019 Mustang GT convertible, and the Mustang is beyond awesome!!!

Yes, I know. It’s was an example of the new design language the new E-Class will share. Which is visible in the spy shots. Nothing wrong with the styling of the Mustang IMO, however, I personally don’t want my Mercedes to look similar.

There is just about zero knowledge out there about the upcoming E-class facelift, notwithstanding that spy photo, which shows just about nothing and cannot be validated. I don’t care if Motor1 wrote an article about it. It’s way too early to talk E-class facelift, which is why it’s not been talked about anywhere with any credibility.

I think we could agree that assuming that the facelifted E-class will share design language with the A-class — or that the A-class establishes design language relevant to the rest of the model lineup — is a bit of a stretch.

We’ll have to disagree. The current design is shared across the entire Mercedes product range, including SUVs. The A-Class features the new design but is only one example. The 2019 CLS is another. LP posted the spy shot of the E-Class face lift a coupe posts us, which you can clearly see the same running light, grill etc of this new design. There’s not much talk about it because it’s quite obvious. At least to most of us.

LOL, no crystal ball, just a pair of eyes. You may want to look at the 2019 AMG GT 63s 4 door as well, also with the new design language like the A-Class. These are all cars that have been announced and made public for some time now, as they are soon to be released. Your comment that: “assuming that the facelifted E-class will share design language with the A-class — or that the A-class establishes design language relevant to the rest of the model lineup — is a bit of a stretch”. Again, I disagree and I’ve simply provided examples of why I disagree with your opinion. If that’s speaking too strongly, then I sincerely apologize.

Yes, that is the standard E wagon. The front grill reveals it. It's also easy to see the forms under the disguise. MB seems to not really want to hide things that much. It is clear the adoption of the CLS, A class and GT4 design cues, with a lean towards and down of the front fascia and more angular optics. It is safe to assume that the E63 will share the same design with a more aggressive air intakes and bumpers and a panamera grill that is being put on the AMG top dogs of each class. For the interior, probably the MBUX, the new central consol pad and the power buttons on the steering.

2020 facelift
I’d have to assume the change for E63 occurs simultaneously with the standard car. I believe they are built on the same production line. I’d also bet production starts in June/July with deliveries in September.

...or arrival at VPC in September and release by December...as is their time honored custom.

It would be great when they do the body changes on the AMG E 63 S wagon, they make the rear fenders a bit more aggressive and style up the rear just a tad ( like the RS6, which is not available here in USA)

Agreed, for me it’s the only aesthetic issue I have with the car.
