So is the 53 going to replace the 63 or is this yet another variant to dilute the amg brand and exclusivity further?

No...The 53 is just an engine upgrade (straight 6) to the previous V6 based E43 AMG models (2017-2018). It tops out at about 429hp...nowhere near the 63/63s AMG engine.
