I just don't know if it makes any sense anymore, Panamera Turbo S pricing (already overpriced) that has more bragging rights.

I just don't think it belongs in the AMG GT/S/C/R class of vehicles. AMG GTS/R owners I have talked with all seem to hate it. Non-GTS/R owners seem to like it. Go figure.
Seems to me to be more of a CLS class vehicle, and I wish this is where AMG slotted the GT63S instead of further diluting the GT line of sports cars.
I wanted a fast four door AMG, so the E63S was it for me. I wouldn't consider the GT63S. Nope.

A well-spec'd out E63S is not inexpensive either. You might not quite get two AMG E63S for the price of the GT63S, but you could get another Mercedes vehicle for sure. (I'm loving my little GLC 300 4matic) lol!

Fully loaded wagon is still cheaper than a base gt63s. Maybe driving one will change my mind.

I haven't loved the look since it's debut, but I bet it'll look sick with some wheels and lowered. The price, in my mind, is way too high, as I don't see the value, personally. Maybe, and just maybe if it had massive turbos, built motor, and north of a 1,000 hp. Otherwise, yikes on the price.

A GT 4-door is literally an E63 Wagon with some structural bracing, 4-wheel steering, a tune, and some interior tweaks (the majority of interior parts are interchangable with an E63). An absolutely loaded E63 Wagon is at least $50k cheaper, is actually faster then the GT from a stop (according to preview drives where reviewers brought testing equipment), has more than double the cargo area, more interior room, etc. Previous CLS63 owners are the real ones getting the shaft. They now can either pay $60-70k more for what's basically the new version of their car or move down to a CLS53.
Porsche gets away with Panamera pricing because they never sell for sticker and they don't have another functionally identical sedan for 2/3rds the price in the lineup for people to buy instead.

ughh no thanks. I don't know who this car appeals to. Anyone with AMG brand knowledge will think it's way overpriced, and no one who plans on tracking their car will buy this thing.

I've been waiting for this car and held on to my Audi longer then i have ever had any car before but as others here, I just don't see the value here.
Might as well stretch a $100k more and build a complete with interior S850 Brabus and have something really special and custom.

I have a bad feeling (or good for those who want this) that pricing will hurt sales and the factory will have to inject trunk or hood money down the road. To me after 11 AMG's its just not worth the price of admission. Yes its an amazing 4 door track car (see below link) but at the same time the gains against the competition (including its cheaper brother) are negligible when it comes to performance measures. Further, its polarizing looks could drive more away.

MY17 S63AMG - MBUSA Buyback. MY16 SL63 - Sold MY19 W213 E63s. 2020 W213 E63s Wagon
Get a fully loaded W222 S63 with CCB and your rear passengers will thank you for it. Reclinable rear seats, room and luxury to go. If you want a fast
sedan, get the S63 tune. Problem solved.

This should have been the new CLS63s 4D coupe, priced 20-25k above the E63s sedan......Would have been worth it

I agree with you and some of the other guys. Just not worth the money. I loved the CLS63, and it sucks to see Mercedes do this. always depreciation down the road, so we can get this much cheaper XD

AMG GTC Roadster, E63s Ed.1, M8 Comp. Coupe
The GT63S has a base price of $182,450, add Ed1 probably $22k, ceramic brakes $8500 and some other goodies, you end up at $215k-$220k or about $40k over a loaded S63.

The S is still a boat (albeit a very comfortable one), not really a performance car equivalent.

Completely agree that the car isn't worth the extra money but it is $159k. Not sure where the 182k is coming from:

So about on par with a S63 but it will be interesting to see the cars base options. Our ED1 package was $22k with CCB's. Wonder what else would be worth the extra money.

Looks better now, ED1 should be in the $182k neighborhood which makes it much more palatable.

Price is too high. They should have priced it like a CLS, and probably made this the new CLS to appease the GTS owners.
Its probably going to be the fastest depreciating car of 2019
