There definitely was some luck involved! Definitely not by design alone, although a device that shows you the locations of speed cameras is very helpful

But the horror stories for example that any native Frenchman will tell you for about vehicle confiscation, police escorts directly to the atm machine for cash payoffs, etc -- these are enough to impart extreme caution.

While not MB/AMG related and definitely not related to shipping cars across the pond for summer, I can state that cars do get shipped to the UK via air from the Middle East for summer. And when summer is over they get shipped out again. So shipping from Baltimore shouldn't be too hard.

One time I was going 150mph around a long sweeping turn in the left lane in my 2003 SL55- not a slow car- and a guy in a previous-gen SL600 (boxy one) was like 6 inches off my rear bumper flashing his lights wanting me to move over. It was unbelievable! I wasn’t about to start shifting vehicle weight at 150mph by switching lanes, and man was this guy impatient!

When I finally moved over, the guy absolutely disappeared. There are some fast fast drivers out there. But yes the courtesy there is to simply move over without any middle fingers or driver resentment. For anyone who enjoys driving and can benefit from a little bit of guidance from an experienced autobahn driver, the unrestricted German roads will provide experiences that last a lifetime.
Yeah that’s hardcore but I really wish lane laws were a thing here in the US. I know some States are better than others. We have the freeways and many times you’re stuck between a pickup truck and a minivan hogging two lanes matching their speed, or the self righteous ***** who thinks because they’re driving the speed limit they don’t need to move over. It’s pretty unreal. The majority of left lane hogs though I’ve noticed here in Minnesota are just utterly and completely oblivious to it. I pass on the right because you know, I’m aging sitting behind them in the left lane, look to the left and they’re just drivin’ along mindin’ their business. We even have big signs asking slower traffic to move over.

They interviewed a state trooper on tv asking about it, saying it slows traffic, leads to road rage and is you know against the law. They said yeah we’re not gonna pull over people doing the speed limit just coz they’re in the left lane.

My god. We need some new traffic law. Fine them a few hundred bucks and enforce the crap out of it. State would make enough money in 6 months to fix all those awful roads. And people would learn how to drive.

Sorry i I know a bit off topic but it just so grinds my gears.

I agree. It's even more unbelievable based on some of the mod deleted posts. I think we are all being catfished. My opinion is - this person is a female. I base this on words that have been said. No grown man calls another man a "jealous bully" - are you kidding me. That's just one of many examples. Think about it. Many of these responses have female undertones in them. I could be totally wrong. However that's my hunch. Perhaps the real 348SStb may have a girlfriend, college age daughter or someone else who is messing with his account for kicks.
