TPMS for aftermarket/2nd set of wheels

Hi all,

I got a new set of wheels and unfortunately sensors that I bought doesn't work, I tried to do all steps from google and went to the shop to re-learn them, just doesn't work. They are 433MHz.

So could you guys share what sensors are you using and where you bought them for your set of aftermarket wheels or just 2nd set of wheels? I would really appreciate that. Thanks.

Did you re-learn them or just after a few minutes of the driving system has recognized them by itself?

It is supposed to learn by themselves after driving for about 10-15 minutes or 10km or so.

I bought them back in December and not sure if I can return them after they were installed

I got them from oreilly and they are Schrader sensors

Service tool can see them but does show "no proper equipment" while the service guy was trying to read them, but they (tire shop) did not have models after 2015 in their tool, but I don't think there is any difference. As far as I understood from reading a lot of information system should recognize them by itself after a few minutes drive, but my cluster tells me "tpms system is inoperative no wheel sensors".

So, are you using those HUF sensors, right?

Restart you TPMS from screen menu and after 5-10min they will register by themself.

TireRack sells the same Huf sensors for W213 under p/n S207: https://www.tirerack.com/tpms/detail...810&S207_Qty=4

Also regarding Schrader sensors. Are you sure they sent correct sensors for W213? Maybe they sent sensors for W212, they're also 433mHz, which won't work on W213.

I do not see how we can help then. There are three choices: OEM, Huf or Schrader. Tpms.com and Tire Rack both know what they are doing.

You are probably right, but when I was buying them I went to the store and said: "I need sensors for 2018 W213 e63". Seems like not enough for those people who are working there. The lesson is learned, will never buy anything from local parts store anymore.

I've asked the question "what's sensor are you all using on your aftermarket or 2nd set of wheels" - providing links or model and make would be more than enough and I'll find what I want to get )) I think I'll buy OEM sensors to make sure I will not have to take tires off 3rd time and waste time and money.

Thank you for your help.

Based on above picture looks like OEM are made by Schrader.

I am using HUF sensors on my '19 E450 (identical sensors to E63) for 19" OEM wheels, purchased at tpms.com link for which, with p/n, I provided above. I also stated that TireRack sells identical HUF sensors (for a bit more) which confirms that they are the correct sensors for W213.

Does the TPMS sensor transmit both temperature and pressure or is there a separate sensor for temp?

I'm going to say separate sensors, as the temperature displayed is actually for the brakes, not the tires.

Only one sensor in each wheel that shows both temperature and pressure.

Interesting. So is there a 2nd sensor in the brake caliper to register temp data and transfer that to the TPMS?

I was told by the MB peeps the dash temperature is for brakes and at a track day I was seeing temps over 220F which I can’t imagine tires would be too happy about?
