2018 E63s Bucking when cold
I'm relatively new here, and really enjoying my 2018 AMG E63s, (bought CPO w/17K miles.) I "came over" from BMW M550xi. This beast has way more power! I'm experiencing fairly severe "Bucking" on starting out when she's been sitting for 8 hours or so at the office. This is lesser in Comfort, but fairly severe in Sport or Sport plus. Also, I have a grinding noise when backing out while turning. Is that normal with this car's differential and MC trans? I have owned a Ferrari 430 with DCT, so I'm familiar with the fact that MC is not going to be as smooth as a TC Trans. But, this is severe enough to be embarrassing when others are in the car. It does smooth out when warmed up, but, still does it slightly.
Thanks for any advice.

- mct adaptations
- they can adapt it for cold and warm starts
- problems with intake manifold
i always start out in S mode even when cold and baby the throttle for the first 1/2 mile and then no bucking
the grinding sounds odd and shouldn't be doing that the way you describe when backing out
As for the grinding noise, my last car had that problem and the had to swap out the rear differential. It fixed it right away. You might want to bring it to the dealership.
Mainly the reason for starting out in Comfort till the temp is up is just to help remind myself not to punch it on the cold motor and drivetrain.
I never punch it until the "blue goes away" but, I thought after sitting only 6 to 8 hours, she's still have enough residual heat in the block. Not the same as the 12 cylinder MTU diesels in the boat I guess. I didn't mention I do have a EC tune, but, this issue started long before the tune. I was hoping the driveability improvement would help the issue. Comfort mode it is, until the blue disappears.
On the diff, I think I'd better take her in to be looked at. The grinding sounds/feels godawful, and sometimes it's on leaving the driveway in forward, now, too. It feels like like the clutch pack is binding.
