Tyre Question

Greetings all, I hope all enjoyed a very Happy and safe Thanksgiving.
I have researched many of the back posts on here, especially regarding the subject of tyres and the seemingly universal dislike of the OEM Pirelli PZero run-flats.
Is it completely accepted that the dislike of this tyre is based on the fact that the seem to be as hard as stone when coupled with W213's already stiff suspension (especially in Sport/Sport Plus mode)? I am also assuming that there are no discernible differences
between the suspension of the E53 and the E63.
Feel aside, does the car suffer, handling-wise, due to this tyre compared to the Michelin Pilot 4? I have nothing to compare the PZeros to, as they have unfortunately not worn out yet. My wife has proven to be a difficult sell regarding the need to purchase a
new set of tyres after only 2000 miles :-)
I guess after all this hot air - Is the best tyre for this car universally accepted to be the Michelin Pilot 4 (is that the correct nomenclature?) Or are there other equally well performing offerings from Continental, Goodyear, less well known brands, etc?
I read some posts that said that using some kind of spray should carried in the vehicle in case of puncture. Any recommendations there?
Sorry for the long post and all these questions that I am sure you are sick of reading from new-to-AMG guys, so be gentle ;-)
Thanks for reading/listening.

From my personal experience and I am sure you have read many post on how good the Pilot 4s are. Hands down the best tire for this car, Have used them at 3 track days I did as well as a few rallies. It is 35 Degrees Fahrenheit in nyc right now and on dry days I drive my e63 and the tire comes up to temp quickly and works perfectly fine. Personally noticed the tire preforms much better on the track at 34PSI when the tyres are up to temp, over what the factory as stated and for street use the factory setting is good.

Michael, for track use are you saying that 34psi was best after warming up the tires, after your session was completed or before going out on the track. Also, how did the P4s hold up after your track days?

34psi after my track session was completed, I had a talk with a few friends who I race with in Champ car series and we call came to the conclusion that 34psi was best temp on these tires. I am still running the track day tires. I am surprised how well held up, it does get pretty sketchy and I can lose grip pretty easily now. Will most likely get new tires in February before my next track day in April.

So I gather that the Michelin Pilot 4 is the favorite tyre for the car. Now, I will not be running it on any kind of race track and I am no race driver by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy some spirited street driving when the opportunity arises, so the same conclusion holds I assume.
Comfort wise, it could scarcely be any worse than the PZeros. Are the Michelins run flats? I was under the assumption that they were not. Also, do you find them dreadful on the track performance-wise? (P0s)
I appreciate any and all opinions.

What temp did you start with. I am in the NY area and might do some track days at NJMSP/Limerock next year. Was wondering what tire temps would be appropriate.
