High Flow Air Filter Installation Instructions
Hey everyone, a few people have asked what steps I took to install my high flow air filters, so here we go.
Done! Took me about 30 min. Pretty simple job. Hope this helps some folks.
- Remove main engine cover. This just pulls off at 6-8 different points around the edge.
- The air boxes are located on the front of the engine.
- Loosen the hose clamps that connects the air boxes to the short rubber hose. You don’t need to remove them, just loosen them plenty.
- Pull the air boxes up and forward to dislodge them from their rubber mounts.
- You will now be able to access the 4 torx screws that hold the front of each air box on. Unscrew these, they won’t come all the way out but enough to pull the front of the air box off.
- Pull the old air filters out and install the new ones.
- Do the above steps in reverse for reinstallation.
Done! Took me about 30 min. Pretty simple job. Hope this helps some folks.

Air filter ??
Thanks for the info. A friend of mine was telling me about this when we went for a drive with my E63S and his 911 Turbo. What does the air filter change get you - improved exhaust, added HP, better engine cooling? Do you have a recommendation for the air filter replacement? I appreciate the info!

@aaronpass thank you for the instructions, I just did Weistec air filters and VTA’s tonight in my garage.
