Anybody using a third-party rear seat screen?

I’m assuming the only benefit of plugging into the predefined seatback holes is you get power and OEM-ish mounting, but the unit wouldn’t communicate with the MBUX canbus.
i also found some discussion on the GLE board but nobody seems to have actually pulled the trigger on these.

just checking in to see if anybody had positive or negative experiences. Seems easier to just strap a cheap tablet on the headrest.
Good luck! Your choices are pretty good it seems.
We have the built-in screens in each of the Honda Odyssey minivans we've had and they were great when the kids were toddlers. We could plop in their favorite movies and they'd watch them over and over and we could control them from the front seat. As they got older they had less and less desire to watch the movies or listen to the radio on the infrared headphones and their preference changed to streaming audio on their phones or watching youtube, netflix, or whatever.
I do have the unlimited data plan for the in-car WiFi hotspot, which is OK when it works. Seems that every now and then they have to switch over to using the phone or iPad's own data plan because the Verizon 4G/LTE hotspot in the car isn't connecting to the Internet.
Looking forward to 5G mmW which per claims by 5G proponents will cover every square inch of the earth with Gbit/s+ data speeds.
That was a joke by the way. I'm extraordinarily skeptical of the 5G coverage claims for the millimeter wave bands.
