Want to start buy saying im not trying to break any records. Im shooting for like 30hours and have started to order stuff for the build. I am going to be running a stage two ecu cpc and tcu tune along with meth. Im debating on the meth but i think it could be useful provided i bring enough boost juice with us. I may decide to to purchase straight meth and mix it during stops to cut down on space. Im looking at the aluminum fuel cell below. I am also planning on getting TMG Laser jammers. I have had the AL Priority jammers in the past and loved them but i have heard good things about these TMG ones. I am also looking at picking up
This police scanner This police scanner
as well but im not sure if there are better ones out there. Also if anyone has done it and would have some recommendations on the best way to go about it that would be helpful as well as any additional gear. I have a Valentine 1 for the radar detector

I think the car stock has enough power - the issue will be fuel and spotters. Time to go onto VInwiki.

Your challenge won't be power, it's fuel and traffic jams. For cops the radar alone doesn't help, you need spotter cars about a mile in front of you. The cannonball cross country record is a dumb record anyway.

Does a Ryder rental truck from Fairfax, VA to San Diego in 50.5 hours count? The trucks have governors that limit you to 65 MPH. Single driver, no special fuel tanks, no radar/laser jammers, heavy traffic.

More practical because I also carried a bunch of stuff with me . . .

That is impressive. How many hours did you sleep during that trip?

Actually, I just realized I misremembered the number of hours. It was 53.5 hours and an average speed of 50.5 mph.

Slept a few hours at a couple of rest stops, and from around midnight till six am at one point when I was really struggling to stay awake. So probably 10 hours total.

Had a hilarious race with a U-Haul truck for well over an hour going through the midwest. We were both limited to 65 mph but I found that if I shifted to neutral on the downhill side of overpasses or small hills just as I ran the truck into the governor that I could get a little more speed briefly. Every once and a while one of us would have to tuck in behind the other to let a car or truck pass. We were both laughing our butts off. Eventually he turned off on another route, but it was fun while it lasted even if it ended in a draw.

I've done the drive several times but that was the quickest and the only reason I pushed that hard was because I only had a limited window for the trip and was trying to make it home for Thankgiving.

A couple of years ago after picking up the E63 at Euro Motorsports in Germantown, MD following European Delivery, I drove significantly faster in the E63 to San Diego, but didn't drive nearly so many hours per day and the trip took several days. That and I had the rear diff serviced in Nashville, plus had the windshield replaced in Dallas after the rock hit me in Arkansas.
