Tint & PPF for Selenite Magno E63s Wagon?

Picking up 2020 E63s wagon next week and want to tint and do full PPF. Dealer said don’t do it in winter as it can be problematic due to cold and films not setting appropriately as I am in Toronto

Has anyone heard of this?

Any recommendations for %tint and PPF type for matte finish paint?

thanks

go fast grocery getter wagon
It’s somewhat true. I did mine in the -15 degree Celsius 3 yrs ago.

Due to the extreme cold temp, it took about 3weeks to cure, not ideal at all. Afterwards, there were some trapped tiny air bubbles but I did not get the tint redone as they were not so obvious. Therefore, I do suggest to wait til spring time to do tint.

as for ppf, I only had the entire front ends done. There were couple of areas needed to be redone even though my installer kept my car well over 48 hrs for the ppf to cure. Typically, the curing process only needed about 12-24 hrs.

Bottom line is you can still do both now as the temp is not in the extreme range. Your installer may warn you about the curing time process will take a lot longer

tint - 20% huper optik all around. $700 range (tax incl)

ppf - full front only - xpel ultimate. $1300 range (tax incl)

xpel does have matte film and if you are doing the whole wagon, it would be about $5500 range (as that was quoted for mine back then)

some great insight as always by bobblehead.
I have the same car and even though I went full wrap Xpel Stealth, I would recommend doing:
Front-end PPF for $1800
Xpel Prime tints for $250-300
A shop I personally goto is All in Detailings in Mississauga, ON.
The owner Mike, has done tons of cars there in our models and recently did a full ppf on my RS6.
Let him know Sameer referred you.
Best of luck!

Sameer, thanks for the info. I love your RS6, I saw all the details on Audizine, as I am trading my '14 RS7 in for the E63 which should be arriving from Montreal tomorrow or Wednesday. I was torn between the RS6 and E63, but am not patient enough to wait for the RS6!

Considering the matte paint is a bit more delicate than standard, I am curious as to why you are recommending only the front end PPF vs whole car?

Thanks

you could do the whole car, you have a point. It would cost you around $6000 as bobblehead mentioned.
