Twice recently, while driving the radio and whole info system shut off and seemingly rebooted. Normal? Or something wrong? Car driving was fine

Not normal. That happens if the watchdog triggers due to a hardware failure or software freeze or crash. It's essentially an auto recovery feature. A common reason for this can be exceeding of thermal parameters. The hardware getting too hot due to a failing fan for example or clogged cooling vents.

I have had this happen a few times on my 2020 when connecting CarPlay, so might be related. The dealer said nothing they can do ....

Of course they did!

I was driving the other night in mine when the central system screen went blank, radio turned off, etc., just as I was stopping to let my wife out. Turned the car off then on again and everything was fine, except the speedo settings went from KPH to MPH and I had to reset them manually. Computer gremlins??
