My 2021 E63S is receiving a lobotomy today

I previously posted about my Parktronic Assist feature becoming inoperative. I took the car into service where both the control unit for that feature and another control unit for the Air Body were updated. Today I experienced a problem with the right drive unit control display which went into a scrambled mode (it still worked for changing the suspension settings). I returned to the dealer this afternoon, met with the shop foreman who is the only person that I allow to work on my car, and who determined that the drive unit needed an update as well. When he hooked up the car to the computer, it stated that multiple systems needed to be updated and that it would take 468 minutes to complete. So, the car is now attached to the service computer receiving the required updates overnight. I found it unusual for a car that was produced in December to require such an extensive software change. Be forewarned.

That seems more like the software became corrupt somehow, and everything needed to be re-loaded. My car updates itself regularly on its own.

The only updates that I previously received were for the navigation maps.

The software update was only for the lower steering wheel switch group. Apparently, the process required confirmation of the other relevant control units software which is what took all of the additional time. My shop foreman thought that there was a issue with the server where the code resided. Anyway, the functions are working properly again.

Yup, my ‘21 E63-S has had numerous software glitches within 2 weeks of delivery👎🏻
Parktronic had issues, ignition had issues (wouldn’t start, then show “a collision has been detected, calling emergency services “ warning), plus many, many, many others. Was in the shop for weeks. they replaced several modules, and performed multiple software updates.
Finally everything is almost fixed. Going in this week to get the final software update for the dials on the steering wheel (they stopped functioning, or displaying anything after the last software updates.
I hope this is the last of the “updates”. This car already qualifies for Lemon law status in California.

Apparently, the software update for the Air Body suspension module throws off the lower steering units. I've had no further issues since the last update. One thing that I've noticed is that the battery only seems to be half charged even with my normal driving. I've started to hook up my trickle charger every two weeks to top it off. I wonder if some of these issues are due to low voltage.
