Most of these cars will lose some or all of the pops and bangs when there is a CEL even if it is a hidden code. Have that checked out by dealer

It could be soft limp mode but if your car revs over 4.5K fine then it wouldn't be soft limp.

I had this issue when I had a hidden code that fired. Cleared the code and everything went back to normal.
