The First Plug-in Hybrid Mercedes-AMG

Same platform as the E, so it fits and maybe we'll be seeing this drivetrain sooner than expected!

go fast grocery getter wagon
what happened to the 73e naming ? I thought that's what they will call it and leaving 63S as ICE version to distinguish the difference.

Here's the official release from MB USA: https://media.mbusa.com/releases/rel...m-mercedes-amg

Looks like the GT 63E will be released as a MY23 so maybe we'll see the E63E (lot of E's) released as a MY24? I haven't taken delivery of my MY21 wagon and the thought of canceling and waiting did cross my mind, but I dunno, a lot of unknowns these days. Also, per other reports this hybrid system adds something like 400-500lbs to an already heavy car, so I wonder how badly that will effect handling? Hopefully they can manage it, but it's tough to fight physics at some point. Probably go ahead with my MY21 and see how this unfolds while I'm enjoying a known quantity.

Yes, which came from the MB press release I linked above, but thats the battery only. Then you have the cooling system for the battery, the electric motor, electric motor gearbox, starter/generator on the engine, wiring and associated hardware (and im probably missing something). Its a complex system with a lot of components. The RBR video on the system quoted 200kg, or 440lbs.

Fast forward to 11:05:
