E53 Launch control
I recently bought an E53 and I love the car. Today I was given a GPS performance meter to measure 0-60, 1/4 mile etc.. Since the E53 doesn’t have race start, I floored the brake and gas pedal but what happens is that the RPM go to 2500 and when I remove my foot from the brake the RPM go back to around 2000 before the car launches. Do you have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong because I’ve tried everything, with both ESP on sport and fully off? All test are done in Sport+ with sport suspension. Thanks guys!
That said I’ve definitely noticed what seems like fuel cut from traction control behavior when I’ve come to a stop, kept my foot on the brake, and then tried flooring it out of a corner. It will start to launch and then sometimes lurch, like,it’s detected slip and trying to help me (which isn’t of course helpful). I had the same thing happen in the past with my VW R32 and two gens of Golf Rs, and with them it was definitely fuel cut from (poor) traction control programming IMO.

OP, this is probably normal behavior from the automatic trans since when you let go of the brake, traction drags the engine speed down till the car can actually move. Typical behavior of torque converters.
A TCU and CPC tune could reduce this, since more torque will be allowed at launch to get the wheel speed catching up to the trans speed quicker.
