Air Balance Fragrance undetectable

Air Balance Fragrance undetectable
2019 W213 with Air Balance package. Today for the first time it occurred to me that I had never smelled the fragrance from the bottle installed in my glove compartment since I first bought the car. I went in the settings to make sure it was on, and even upped the fragrance amount to "high" and turned on ionization. Still nothing. The bottle in the glove box is near full, I removed it and put my nose right up to the screened opening on the top of the bottle and could not detect a thing (promise I don't have Covid and can smell just fine).
Could there be something wrong with the system? What should I attempt, if anything other that to take it in for service?

I can usually smell mine even on the low setting. If I pass a skunk or some other smelly area, I'll turn it on high initially, then drop it to low after a minute. On high it is really strong.
Might depend on the specific scent you have. I haven't looked lately but my car is a 2018 purchased in 2017 and there was still a fair bit of liquid left in the bottle.
To be fair though, I barely drove the car in 2020, so that doesn't count.

Mine seems to operate in spurts; not sure if thats the way they all do. so it seems to spray some every now and then. if the issue is in your bottle; that seems pretty easy to replace. mine does not have a screen, so not sure if that just didnt come across correctly in your description. it has these 3 holes on top that has to be opened by pushing in a central hole. after that you should def be able to smell it.

Checked mine yesterday after reading the post. I have at least half and maybe closer to 3/4 of the bottle. So still quite a bit left for the car being almost 4 years old now - I picked it up Nov 6th, 2017 at the factory in Sindelfingen.
