W212 to 213 Owner soon

Hey guys pretty much ready to make the switch from my 212 E63 into a W213 . Has anyone been following the values of the 213's consistently ? Whacky I know in the current market . Initially was going to wait another year or so for the prices to creep down a little. Maybe a little closer to 60-70k range.

On the flip side the 212 will depreciate that much more over said time (just rolled past 80k) , and there's the possibility of running into repair's in meantime as well . Rates aren't terrible right now , so pretty much the same out of pocket will ensue to make the swap whether its now or later is my thinking. Guess i'll have to get out and drive one for sure . If anyone was in a similar boat any opins. are appreciated . I have a few spec's I would like, and finding a well sorted/maintained one always takes a little time regardless.

Prices have gone up pretty wildly and are staying there. Some dealers are throwing an ADM on top as well. I wouldn't think you'll find a lot of these in the 60-70K range unless you are willing to grab something around 2015-16 models, or one with some miles on it. The market is crazy and the E63 are holding their value. I hope you are successful and find what you want.

Yeah agree on the adm . Yeah going to start actively looking , as it could take a while.

I tried to buy a "lightly used" one before finally ordering my 2021 sedan. After 18 months of looking and traveling around I decided my list of "must haves" didn't exist in the used market at that time. The couple that I found were sold before I could get to look at them and a third had issues that hadn't been disclosed. Hopefully, your search will yield better results.

If 2021 E63s Wagon order didn't go through would have considered S580 or gone down market to M850i xDrive trio since BMW will continue to offer 2023 V8s at MSRP. CPO models might be in your price range? Alpina B8 looks interesting...

Life is too short to wait for a deal on used W213's...and you'll be waiting a while. With the cancellation of the 22 and 23 MY V8's more people are going CPO/Used further keeping W213' values high. If you find something you like in your budget, pull the trigger and don't look back...

Agreed. Missed out on a couple for hesitating. finally found one, but moved very fast to ensure it was mine.

that would be for a sedan.... I suspect a wagon would be above $100K.. way above. My dealer has offered me 90K for my 18 with 35K on it.....

Looked at a few w213s , did notice quite a few over 45k + miles have had the rear crank seal replaced. Guess this is a common thing at this point.

Read in another thread that the oil separators should also be replaced and that's usually the issue. Anyone else ran into this ? I would have a ppi done regardless. But I saw on a few the cars histories - it would return for oil leak checks not long after the rear main replacements.

Update on this , spoke to my SA at the dealer. He confirmed he's been seeing the m177's come in with leaking rear mains . Mileage anywhere from 40k+ plus . But besides that to his knowledge the w213's haven't had any other issues worth mentioning . Found a couple , alot either don't pan out or sell quick as mentioned above.

How many have higher miles already on their 213's ?
