Starting in mid September I began my hunt to finally go after a wagon. Literally the day I started to look AMG announced it was not making one for 2022. I didn’t know. Found a used 2019 with some usage and 22k miles. Slept on it and next day it was sold. Gone. From there I had another brand new that I refused to pay $30k over for. Found a used $143k build. Dream car. All lined up. Seller backs out last minute. No deal. Started looking at other cars. Everything. Every deal was over by a lot. Finally said screw it, I’ll pay through the nose for a 2021. Made the decision to buy, dealer calls me and says I’ve been outbid ($50k over msrp). Randomly I found a lead on a new one while being built. Over three months I’m checking in with the GM. Doesn’t answer my emails or calls. I’m ready to give in and get another used one (over msrp) and I call one last time. GM pauses and says, “ok I’ll do msrp.” Solid $125k build. Finally. To all you greedy dealers out there fleecing enthusiasts- kiss my ***. We won.
