Hello All,
My first post so i apologize for any stupid questions. In my car for some reason the track pace is disabled. I went to the dealer to activate it and for some reason they can not do anything about it. When i was buying the car during the demo drive the option was enabled but i couldnt rest my case with dealer. So can you advise what are the steps to enable it

Second question my car is 4 matic plus and if thats the case with it being E53 amg how can i put it in drift mode i have tried everything seems like not the case. I did ask the dealer again they advised that this will be enabled after certain miles. My car is certified pre owned with 7500 miles shouldnt be activated by now ? any help will be appericated.

 

As for the first question it has to be an option on the car. I think it is now automatically added on newer cars but maybe not on previous cars. If you actually saw it and used it during the demo it should be there. If I remember correctly it is in the menu screen under vehicle.
As for the second question and drift mode, it does not come on your model.

Is that picture all you ever saw during the demo? Or did it go more into it? There are some on here that can run your VIN and tell you all the options the car should have. Ask in this thread.

Some options can be on the car but not a usable option. Example: I had a GLE once that showed the dashcam but it was not usable.

 

When i did the demo the option was showing up next to AMG dynamics options so it was definitely there, now it doent show up which triggered me to check why the menu looks different.
In regards to race and drift option my car is quipped with Amg dynamics and 4matic plus should i have the race and drift mode ?

 

I’m not sure about race mode (I don’t think so) but it will not have drift mode.

Not sure where you are located but in the US there unfortunately no race mode / drift mode in the e53. Thats only oversees.

 

We got it up here in Canada.

Hi bro, I can help u unlock race mode drift mode and unlock track pace in ur car.

 

I have a 2021 E53 with all options @thebreadmaker and can tell you there is NO drift mode. 4 Matic E53's do not have the AMG diff nor the option to put all power to the rear wheels, so that's out. As far as Track Pace is concerned it is basically a lap timer, nothing else. And hopefully the track you are at is actually listed in the APP. He in Toronto, Mosport is not even listed. Nor is Tremblant. By the way, there are no power gains, or suspension tweaks either. Sport Plus is the E53's best case scenario. There is a great shop here in Toronto called MB house. Maybe they can help you out 'unlock' some features. Just note; E53's will always be missing 174 bhp (the bhp delta to the E63). What we don't have in bhp, we gain in fuel efficiency? LOL!

 

There is a dedicated drift mode and racemode for e53. My dealer unlocked Race and Master mode which just lets the car be a bit more tail happy. The 4Matic(+) should mean all they all have a rear wheel electrical diff, which needs to be flashed again via Obd ii to enable it. All done coding and re-programming as long as it’s 4matic+ with dynamic plus package. Which offers together.

That's epic @fardinhossajn !!!! We have a shop here in Toronto that could probably unlock these hidden features. As of now my OEM screens / APPs in my car do not show this. I went to get a custom burble tune and the shop said my car detected spyware and went into safety mode. So there are mods available @thebreadmaker , but OUTSIDE your dealer as @fardinhossajn and I have mentioned.

 

yes there is you have to have performance pkg with red calipers.

 

Never seen an E53 with red callipers... Nor an option for a 'performance pack' on the .ca MB site for E53. On MY2021, I have Premium Pack, Exclusive Pack, Intelligent Pack, HUD and Driver's Pack as well as MBUX for Track pace and have never seen 'red callipers' as an option. It looks like the track pace app can be retroactively added. I'm guessing this app includes drift and race modes? I am seeing some 2019 e53's coming to market and I really enjoyed the test drive vs. competitors. I'm wondering if it could be added after considering it's all software.

 

yes you can add track pace app. But drift mode is not part of that Drift mode is seperate and is part of track pkg. not the track pace app

 

Ah I see. If it is all software I'm hopeful some aftermarket support comes to this car. Seems like something they could solve. It really is a fantastic car, just in a tough spot because MB decided to market it as AMG it seems like...

 

Canadian only package, post facelift. US doesn’t get it, nor did Canada pre facelift. My pre facelift E53 coupe didn’t get it. Here’s my car pre delivery with the red calipers.




It all depends what level of NTG the car was equipped with. Track pace and dashcam needs the high version. The mid version has a different cpu and less processing power. Unfortunately during chip pandemic, a lot of E classes were fitted with NTG mid due to shortage of high version. Even though my car was optioned with track pace as part of the AMG package, I ended up with NTG mid, lost both dashcam and track pace, and got a $100 credit. Retrofit isn’t possible with NTG mid because the cpu doesn’t support it.

You can enter your VIN in a decoder and see if your car has NTG mid or high. From what I understand, mid historically was euro only, but NA cars got them due to chip shortage.
