19" or 20" wheels?

19" or 20" wheels?
I really like the look of the 20" multi spoke AMG wheels, but am worried about the low profile. I'm in the Northeast and potholes are all around the place. Are the 20" wheels forged? Are they prone to bend? Just wanted some thoughts. Thanks!

These are forged:
And they are TOUGH. Also the tires have plenty of meat around them for my E63. I'd take forged 20" wheels over cast 19" wheels.

Sorry I should have clarified. I'm asking about the 20" multi-spoke AMG wheels offered as an $850 option for the 2022 E53. Pictured below. Are these forged? If so, I think I'm going to go for it. Otherwise, I'm concerned about damage in the NY/NJ area.

Just a little info from someone that has been in the wheel game for 20 plus years....
Although there are many methods of wheel construction they are all safe, yes Forged 6061 are a better built wheel then a cast wheels however for those that are worried about potholes is like being stuck between a hard place and a rock, Unfortunately it wont matter if you spend 15K on some 2-3pc forged wheels or 1500.00 on a set of replica wheels
if you hit a pot hole at the right speed chances are the wheel will get damage , bend or crack , I usually tell customers to look for wheels where the brand is active with their customers, look for brands that dont discontinue their line every year, what's the point of having a life time structure warranty if the wheel is discontinued when you need it?
either way I just wanted to shoot out my 2cents, hope nobody takes it wrong just me trying to help
Picture below for attention***

Thanks, i think i will follow your lead with the Sottozero 3's. I am in Montana and the roads are in good condition very very few potholes but we have snow for sure!
i saw a lot of conversation on tire sizes. Did you stay with the normal 265/35/20 front and 295/30/20 rear or put a square set up probably with 265 all around?
Any issue with clearance of the tire?

Smart move. As someone who bought the dealer tire and wheel insurance package (E53 20s), if I could do it over again, I wouldn't have. It's been a royal PITA to get claims sorted (no fault of the dealer, all MB corporate issues), and the ride on 20s with low profile tires around here (CT/NY/NJ) is typically terrible on anything but freshly paved roads. I'd much rather have gone 19s with more sidewall. Live and learn...though I should have already learned 5 cars ago ;-)

Awe that sucks. I have a theory that run-flats do a better job at protecting rims against potholes, but are less likely to survive potholes because their sidewalls crack/tear open. I'm going with a modern spare and plan to change all tires to non-run flats when I get my next flat or these go bald, whichever comes first.

i just plan to put it in the trunk. I have a cargo net that attaches to D rings on the trunk floor. Plan to put the spare under that so it doesnt move around.
