looking to buy a w213 e63s
hello i am looking to buy a 2018 e63s so i wanted to ask what different equipment is good or a MUST have?
i have found two different cars both 2018 models but one of them is tuned by renntech (r800) with 71k km on the clock and the other one is stock with 55k km on the clock.
the dealer selling the tuned car also said mercedes is has put it in their system that its tuned so it did not void the warranty? i thought that sounded weird?
what should i choose with reliability in mind

one is steel brakes, the other one is carbon brakes. Carbon rotors should last a long time, perhaps, well into 125,000km+ before needing replacement, but then the costs will be crazy high.

What that simly mean dear sir, is that the car is now a status R. meaning everything including a lightbulb replacement under warranty, will have to be reviewed by a regional rep to ensure your tune did not cause that to fail. If for whatever reason it is determined that the tune could cause a light bulb to fail preaturely, it will not be covered.....but your warranty stays intact. Ask me how I know.....(Renntech tuned, resonator removed, status R'ed because I would not pay $7800 to replace my whole exhaust over a loose clamp that cost me $40 to replace at a local muffler shop, loose clap after I did the resonator delete)

OP I wouldn't buy the tuned car.

However once your car is status R'ed, does not matter the dealer, your car will always require an AMG regional rep to approve any and every repair
