Considering 2018 E63 S

Hi guys,

With the used car market turning around I've slowly begun to contact dealerships. Most of the vehicles that are entering my price range are between 40-60k miles. I wouldn't buy anything that didn't look like the vehicle was getting routine maintenance and of course, I would get a PPI before buying. This will be my first AMG, if anyone has any advice or experiences with this car around that mileage I'm all ears! Thanks

You may also want to consider getting comprehensive extended warranty. Parts are expensive as you know. Aside from this, the e63s is fairly solid car and you will enjoy driving it.

I haven't bought a car in over 10 years and nothing I would even consider an extended warranty. Are these normally acquired through the dealer you buy from or are there reputable 3rd parties? I most likely will be forced to buy out of state and the options I've looked at so far aren't Mercedes dealers.

I wouldn’t worry too much about buying 3rd party as long as they have the service records. But do get a warranty on it regardless! At that mileage also check brakes and tires….things get pricey quick!

I have made up my mind I will get some type of 3-5 year warranty. I don’t mind the routine maintenance here and there and it’s price. That’s expected, it’s the major repairs you don’t expect that worry me and having peace of mind will make the years more enjoyable.

Try to find a CPO car that has the options you are looking for. Try to get a 2019+.

I've been with my RSX for over 10 years. Went back to school and over the last year or two finally been making the money to look at an AMG. I've wanted one for a very long time now.

A CPO 2019 is just out of my price range at the moment. I can maybe revisit early next year if I don't find a good deal for now. Also been considering a c63 for now and maybe revisting the e in a couple of years.

take your time and consider next year ...Acura is a stupid reliable and inexpensive car to fix compared to an amg; these amg's can have big ticket repair costs ... good luck and enjoy!

Appreciate it! It's done well to me for sure just looking to move on. I am taking my time and I can wait until next year. The routine maintenance costs don't worry me, it's the big ticket repairs that do which is why I would be inclined to get a reputable warranty.

Make sure you ask if it was tuned - warranty be darned - if it's tuned the warranty won't cover it ... theyll Sell you the warranty and take your cash no problem - but if they find it's been modified it's a no go for payment of repair
